Gallery Walk!!!
An insightful Tuesday it was!!! From the creative and intersting podcasts that sounded like professional thouroughly researched information, to the posters that look like they were made by analysts and professional artists that are trained to grab your attention. It was all amazing! We had to give feedback and interact with the creators of the presentations we were mostly attracted to. This was a fun activity because we got the chance to experience information that came from someone else's box of creativity. The way that I had translated the posters and podcasts was enhanced the moment I started to speak to its creator. The message was visibly clear though, I could pick up the content without engaging with the artist. It is amazing how someone can include all that they learnt and the research in one presentation.
The information on the presentations all had information on how drama helps us in our classrooms. People discussed the way that drama makes the lesson more interesting, how it helps with understanding, and how it is a tool that is easy to use and makes the learners engage more in the activities. Most people spoke on their experiences during teaching practice that gave them this idea on how they think about drama in the classroom. I noticed that most people mentioned that had they not learnt anything in this course/module, they would have not been able to tackle the challanges they had faced in the classroom. Someone mentioned the challenges that they had and the solution was what we had learnt in this module. This brings us to the importance of the Learning in and through Drama module in a teacher's career and practice. Drama is important for both the teacher and the learners.
This is an example of one of the posters that we had in class. It clearly shows how drama is important in our lessons. It encourages creativity, understanding, and learning. Us doing this module also shows us the importance of drama in the classroom. Our lecturer use methods that pertain to drama, to teach us content about drama. Some of the ideas we have learned and are planning to use in the future are what our lecturers implemented in our classroom.
